Obituary for Ann "Annie" Sarber
Ann “Annie” Sarber, age 80, died Sept 22, 2020 at her home in Garden City, KS. She was born on Feb 14, 1940 in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of Robert A. and Jeanette (Hughes) Clark.
She is survived by a daughter Sarah (Sarber) Jones of Deerfield, KS; a son, Matthew Sarber of Mullinville, Ks; his wife Rhonda and 2 grandchildren, Emily and Alexa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Annie attended Garden City schools and attended two years at the University of New Mexico. She went on to become a flight attendant with Central Airlines.
Ann was a member of the Community Congregational Church and was a receptionist for Dental Associates for many years before retiring.
When she was 16 yrs. she won a scholarship through Girl Scouts for flying lessons. She flew her solo flight & earned her single engine certification.
She enjoyed her cozy room at Homestead Assisted Living, her Southwestern art, Taco Bell and played a mean game of Bingo.
A celebration of Annie’s life will take place at the Community Congregational Church on Wednesday, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. with a light lunch following the service. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Lee Richardson Zoo, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. 7th Street, Garden City, KS 67846.
