Obituary for Alfonso H. Valdez
Alfonso Valdez, age 68, died Monday, July 11, 2022 at his home located in Garden City, Kansas. He was born August 29, 1954 in Ojinaga, Mexico. The son of Jose Valdez and Angelica Hernandez Valdez.
Alfonso was born and raised in Mexico. He then migrated to the State of Texas in 1988 where he met his ex-wife Silvia Acosta. They then relocated to the state of Kansas where they raised five children and grandchildren. Alfonso was known as an outstanding Pen Rider and horse trainer. He dedicated his life to Poky Feeders located in Scott City, Kansas.
Alfonso is survived by a son, three daughters, grandchildren and a spouse Dioselina Garcia also known as “Chaparra de mi Corazón” to Alfonso. His eldest daughter Edna Valdez and spouse Junior Jaramillo, surviving son Alfonso Jr, Valdez and wife Brittany Valdez, Jennifer and spouse Abraham Hernandez, youngest son Alonso Valdez that has passed and Armida and spouse Angelica Pachecho. Grandchildren, Rebecca, Cassandra, Shanya, Felipe, Martin, Quinton, Alonso Jr, Joseph, Eason, Andrew, Jaylnn, Eaziden, Adalie, Jaydon, Jacob, Quade, Jamie, Sergio, Claudia, Sarahi, Amaya. Three Great grandchildren, Lilah Joann, Cassiel Alfonso, and Autumn Dawn; and two siblings Arcelia, and Andres.
Alfonso is preceded in death by his Father Jose Valdez, son Alonso Valdez and grandson Martin Garcia. Brothers, Rogelio and Jose “Chapo”
Public Visitation will be held from 12 pm to 8 pm Thursday July 14, 2022 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. There will be no Funeral Services at this time. The family suggest memorials be given to Alfonso Valdez Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. 7th Street, Garden City, Kansas.
