Obituary for Alec Cantu
Garden City- Alec Cantu, 23, died on Sunday September 27, 2020 in Garden City, Kansas. He was born July 5, 1997 in Garden City the son of Hugo Olivas and Julia Cantu.
Alec graduated with the class of 2015 from Garden City High School. He was a valued employee of Walmart for more than 3 years and is remembered by many for his warm and friendly smile. Alec loved his family and friends deeply and made sure each of them knew that. His nieces and nephews brought him so much joy and he loved nothing more than spending time with them. Alec had a welcoming heart to all children as if each were his niece or nephew. He enjoyed music, cooking, the Broncos, and so much more. He took pride in his things making sure everything was in order and just right! In his brief time he impacted many with love, kindness and positivity. Although he was the baby of the family they remember him most for his big heart and unwavering strength.
Alec is survived by his Parents- Julia Cantu and Hugo Olivas, Siblings- Joshua Maestas, Audrey Maestas, Marissa Maestas, Kayla Maestas, Demetrio Maestas, Jr., Delfina Olivas, Asusena Olivas, 18 Nieces and Nephews, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents- Columba Ramirez and Eugene Cantu, 3 Uncles, and Infant Baby Maestas.
A Rosary Service will be held Saturday October 3, 2020 at 11:00 am with Funeral Service to follow both at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Friday October 2, 2020 also at Garnand Funeral Home.
