Obituary for Todd Alan Hopkins

Todd Alan Hopkins, 53, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned, Kansas. He was born July 27, 1965 in Dodge City, Kansas.
Todd moved with his family from Dodge City to Garden City in November 1967. He attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School in 1983 before attending Garden City Community College. Todd served in the United States Army from February 1986 to February 1989 where he served in the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. After the service, Todd attended Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business in 1992. He returned to Garden City where he has worked as manager for Garden City Farm Equipment. Todd enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, traveling, off-road Jeeping, taking care of people, and he loved to spend time with family and friends.
On November 25, 1995, Todd married Julie Ann Gallaher in Manhattan, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include three children Brendan Hopkins of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Cara Hopkins of Garden City, Kansas, and Evan Hopkins of Garden City, Kansas; his Mother Minnie M. Miller of Garden City; his Father & Step-Mother Les & Carol Hopkins of Great Bend, Kansas; a Brother Darin & wife Gloria Hopkins of Garden City; and two Step-Sisters Kristin & husband Charlie Shell of Newton, Kansas and Jessica & husband Aaron Corcoran of Great Bend, Kansas.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Warren Stecklein as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City with military graveside rites conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard and the American Legion District #8 Honor Guards. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials to St. Dominic Catholic Church or to the Todd Hopkins Children’s Education Fund both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
