Obituary for Marabelle Hoeme

Marabelle Hoeme, 93, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born May 26, 1923 in Garden City the daughter of Milo Joyce, Sr. and Rosa (Sager) Joyce.
Marabelle has been a lifetime resident of Garden City. She attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School in 1942. She then attended Garden City Junior College. On May 15, 1949, she married Herman Hoeme in Garden City. A homemaker, Marabelle enjoyed china painting, gardening, cooking, and visiting and eating out with her friends, the “Get Together Girls.” She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City and the Lutheran Women Missionary League.
Survivors include three daughters Deandra Krug of Garden City, Nancy McMillan of Garden City, and Marnie Hoeme of Kansas City, Kansas; a brother Lloyd Joyce of Garden City; a sister Nita Anstaett of Garden City; 8 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchildren. Marabelle is preceded in death by her husband Herman who died on February 24, 2000. She is also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Sherri; and 2 brothers Lawrence Joyce and Milo Joyce, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City with Rev. Lyle Stuehrenberg officiating. A private family burial will take place later at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family request memorials given to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
