Obituary for James "Jim" Dinkel

James “Jim” Dinkel, 56 died Monday, January 30, 2017 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born September 29, 1960 in Garden City, Kansas the son of Frank & Frances (Eichenauer) Dinkel.
Jim has been a lifetime resident of Garden City. He attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School in 1978. Jim worked at Henry’s Welding, Simmons Pump, Befort Auction, Miller Farms, and Inland Container. He enjoyed helping people, fishing, motorcycles, his 55 Chevy, and his dog “Jessie.”
Survivors include his parents Frank and Frances Dinkel of Holyrood, Kansas; a son Brady Marsteller of Dighton, Kansas; a sister Tammy & husband Bob Sroufe of Spring, Texas; 2 brothers Lloyd & wife Sherri Dinkel of Garden City, Kansas and Randy Dinkel of Holyrood, Kansas; and his pet companion “Jessie.”
A vigil service and rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Reginald A. Urban presiding. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Jim Dinkel Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
