Curtis graduated from Grand Marais, Minnesota High School and went to work for Erie Mining Company. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After his discharge he moved to Hazen, North Dakota to start a lifelong career in the Electric Power Plant industry. He worked at several power plants before moving to Garden City in 1981 to become the first Manager of Sunflower Electric.-Holcomb Station. He enjoyed attending sporting events to support his family and community. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife & 1 Sister- Barbara Cummins.
