Obituary for Martha Ann Meza

Martha Ann Meza, age 53, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center / St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas. She was born May 25, 1963, in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Manuel and Irma (Guerra) Meza.

Martha grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1981. She moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2001. Martha married Joseph Liteta on January 28, 2003, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She moved back to Ulysses in 2013. Martha was a certified medical aide and worked at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses. She enjoyed music, working crossword puzzles, working on her computer, playing on-line games, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her parents, Manuel and Irma Meza of Ulysses, Kansas; son, David Meza and wife Amber of Johnson, Kansas; daughter, Marlena Wohlgemuth and husband Beau of Scott City, Kansas; grandchildren, Manuel Esquivel, Alivia Meza, and another grandchild on the way; brother, William Meza of Ulysses, Kansas; sisters, Cinthia Meza of Ulysses, Kansas, Rebecca Bryner and husband Mike of Dillingham, Alaska, and Norma Meza of Ulysses, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 5, 2016, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Troy Grimes officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call Sunday, December 4, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the Martha Meza Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
