Obituary for Sandy Dunsworth

Sandy Dunsworth was born September 11, 1946 in Garden City, Kansas, the oldest of eight children born to Glenn “Bing” and June (Ellis) Burch. She attended school in Selkirk and Greeley County High School in Tribune.
On July 22, 1973, Sandy married Art Dunsworth in Garden City, Kansas. They made their home in Holcomb before moving to Spearville. They raised two children: Shannon and Brandi.
Sandy spent her life caring for others as a nurse's aid in long term care facilities and home health care companies through out Kansas. She spent her last several years in Pratt, Kansas and worked for Right at Home.
Sandy loved to be outside at a rodeo or next to a lake camping. She enjoyed spending her evenings tending her yard and flower gardens; a hobby she shared with her mom, sister and nieces. Sandy's true passion was spending time with her three granddaughters: LeyAnn, Mya and Jenna. She shared a special bond with her girls and loved being at their activities and watching them grow into wonderful young ladies.
On June 12, 2016, Sandy passed away surrounded by family in Scott City, Kansas. She was 69 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn L. Burch, two nephews and former husband Art Dunsworth.
Sandy will be forever in the hearts of her mother, June Burch of Scott City; son Shannon Dunsworth of Coats; daughter Brandi Gehlen of Wichita; siblings: Kathy Burch of Lakin; Doris Mullins of Scott City; Marvin Burch of Macksville; Gary Burch of Holcomb; Bonnie Christensen of Scott City; Bill Burch of Belpre; Randy Burch of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, her beloved nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
Services will be held in Scott City, Kansas at the Scott State Park on Saturday, June 25th 2016 at 10:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Dunsworth Education Fund or St. Catherine Hospice in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
