Calvin attended school at Garden City, Kansas, and graduated from Syracuse High School, Syracuse, Kansas. He was a lifelong farmer-stockman on his family farm north of Kendall. He invested nearly a life-time in serving The Wesleyan Church on boards (Local and District Church, Oklahoma Wesleyan University Trustee Emeritus) and buildings (helping build Lakin Wesleyan Church, parsonage, and numerous overseas work teams). In 2003, after 55-years on the farm, Calvin and Jeanne moved to Lakin. He enjoyed piloting a small plane, reading, doing cross word puzzles, and wood working.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, 5 Brothers and 3 Sisters
