Terry grew up in Lamar, Colorado and graduated from Lamar High School. He then served in the United States Army. He moved to Scott City and later moved to Garden City and Holcomb. He was a lifelong owner-operator of a truck, he hauled cattle for many years and currently was leased to Horizon Express of Dodge City hauling feed and grain. He enjoyed fishing, mechanics and telling trucking stories. He was preceded in death by his Father.
