Memberships: St Dominic Catholic Church and Legion of Mary.

Katherine was a lifelong resident of Garden City. She moved to Wichita in 2011 where she lived with her niece, Alvina Reyes. She had been employed as housekeeper for the Brookover’s household for 41 years. Her hobbies included baking, tending to her flowers, and taking care of her dogs. Her family called her “Rosie The Riveter”, as she helped build the Garden City airport runway during WWII. Although she never married or had children of her own she was instrumental in raising and nurturing her surviving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents- Rosalio and Alvina Ayala, her grandparents, and her sister - Luisa Garcia.
