Obituary for Richard Floyd Morgan

Richard Floyd Morgan, 53 died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his home in Kearny County, Kansas. He was born October 3, 1961 in Watsonville, California the son of Floyd & Dorothy (McLelland) Morgan.
Richard grew up in Thornton, Colorado. He graduated from high school in Thornton. Richard moved to Brownville, Nebraska in 1988. He later moved to Longmont, Colorado where he worked in the oil fields in Wyoming. Richard then moved to Kearny County, Kansas in the late 1990’s and has lived there since. He worked for many years as a truck driver hauling meat and produce. He enjoyed American military history, trains, and his work as a truck diver.
On April 1, 1991, Richard married Mary Courtney Sheley in Greeley, Colorado. She survives. Other survivors include three sons Paul Panning of Mound City, Mo., Robert Panning of Greeley, Co., and David & wife Stacy Gilliland of Garden City, Ks.; a brother Thomas Ranly of Benson, Az.; a sister Barbara Williams of Benson, Az.; 4 grandsons; and 1 granddaughter. Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin, Kansas with Leland Jackson officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorials to the Richard Morgan memorial fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Lakin.
