Obituary for Jerry Lee Breese Sr.

Jerry Lee Breese Sr., age 56, of Ulysses, Kansas died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at his home in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born April 5, 1958 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the son of Earl Homer and Wanda Louise (Stephens) Breese.

Jerry attended school in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1972 where he met and married his wife, Juanita Guebara, on January 22, 1976. They lived in Garden City until 1982 when they moved to Avondale, Arizona. Jerry’s family moved back to Garden City in 1992 and made their permanent residence in Ulysses in 1996. Jerry worked for Smyth Oil and Gas, Kroy Industries, and Pete Woods Excavating. Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed participating and watching all types of sports. Jerry especially enjoyed spending time with his family and having the grandchildren visit. He attended Celebration Baptist Church in Ulysses.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita of their home; sons, Jerry Breese Jr. and wife Cynthia, Benjamin Breese and wife Kristi; daughter, Jennifer Tweedy and husband Zach all of Ulysses, Kansas; brother, Perry Breese of Copane, Oklahoma; two sisters, Marilyn Ainsworth of Parson, Kansas and Virginia Crabtree of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, AJ Erives, Koby Erives, London Tweedy, Paris Tweedy, Jerry Breese III, Bernardino Breese, Mercedes Breese, Tyler Breese, Jered Breese, Kami Breese, Summer Breese and Bennett Breese; and one great-grandchild, Bryson Breese.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Breese and Dale Breese; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernardino and Francis Guebara.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Rose Lane Church of God in Ulysses, Kansas with Pastor Gerry Dupuis officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the Jerry Breese Sr. Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
