Obituary for Sarah Jean Avila

Sarah Jean Avila, 33 died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 near Dodge City, Kansas. She was born October 29, 1981 in Garden City the daughter of Larry & Karen (Andrews) Johannes.
Sarah has been a lifetime resident of Garden City and Holcomb. She attended Garden City schools. Sarah then attended Holcomb High School where she graduated in 2000. She then attended Garden City Community College. A homemaker, Sarah also worked as a bookkeeper and Landscaper in the family business Spray-Way. She was a member of New Life Community Church of Garden City and a member of Gideon’s International. Sarah enjoyed cooking, spending time with her kids, facebook, her church and church activities, and writing.
On August 11, 2000, Sarah married Brandon Michael Avila in Holcomb, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include three children Brooklyn Avila, Destiny Avila, and Breyanna Avila all of Holcomb; her parents Larry & Karen Johannes of Garden City; three brothers Matt Johannes of Garden City, Joshua Johannes of Forsythe, Missouri, and Caleb Johannes of Holcomb; and her grandparents Eugene & Helen Andrews of Garden City. Sarah is preceded in death by a sister Traci Johannes.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor Jeff Mitchell officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorials given to Gideon’s International in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
