Obituary for Genevieve I. (Genny) Tucker

Genevieve I. (Genny) Hampton Tucker, age 82, of Johnson, Kansas went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson, Kansas. Genny was born in Grove, Oklahoma, on December 25, 1931, the daughter of George and Nellie (Johnston) Hampton.

Genny moved to Johnson in 1947, where she met and married Lawson Glenn Tucker on August 15, 1948. To this union five children were born; Danny, Patsy, Paul, Jackie and Glenda. Genny, a homemaker, also worked at the Stanton County Long Term Care Unit as a CMA in the early 1980’s. She enjoyed sewing and reading.

Genny is survived by Patsy Huddleston and husband Doug of Jay, Oklahoma; Paul Tucker and wife Kim, Jackie Tucker and wife Patty all of Johnson, Kansas, Glenda Johnson and husband Scott of Salina, Kansas; Sandy Tucker, beloved wife of Danny Tucker, of Johnson, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Glenn in 1998; son, Danny; brothers, Charles and Donald; sisters, Nadine and Patsy; and great-grandson, Nicholas White.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Chapel in Johnson, Kansas with Pastor Gerry DuPuis officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with family present, on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
