Leona graduated from Russell High School where she was involved with basketball and track. She went to work at the theater as a bookkeeper. In 1950 she moved to Garden City and was a bookkeeper for Century Refinery and Ed Porter Lumber Company before becoming the Vice President of Security Savings & Loan Association for 28 years. She enjoyed golfing, she and her husband were the club champions of Garden City Country Club in 1956, playing in her bridge clubs and especially watching KU Basketball. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Grandson- Brandon Crotty, 2 Sisters- Milda Hooper & Esther Kruckenburg & 2 Brothers- Herb Keil & Melvin Keil.
