Obituary for Delores Husband

Delores Husband, 82 of Garden City died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City. She was born September 1, 1931 in Modoc, Kansas the daughter of Charles R. & Bessie K. (Peppan) Morley.
Delores graduated from Pierceville High School in 1950. On September 2, 1950, she married James F. Husband in Garden City. They lived in Pierceville until 1952 when they moved to Garden City. They have lived in Garden City since. Delores worked for the Garden City Police Department for more than twenty two years. She worked as a parking meter attendant from 1970 to 1980. She then worked as a switchboard operator from 1980 to 1992. She retired in 1992. She was a member of the Pierceville Federated Church and she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, embroidery, canning, and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter Arlene & husband Dennis Clark of Garden City; two sons Jimmy Husband of Petersburg, Va. And Mickey & wife Yong I Husband of Clarksville, Tn.; a brother Charles Morley of Downey, Ca.; a sister Shirley Clark of Belle Vista, Ar.; nine grandchildren Emily & Cory Wagner, Jeremy & Shannon Clark, Amy Husband, Andrew Husband, Jessica Husband, Jennifer & Thomas Davidick, & Michael & Maggie Husband, Jihye Lee Husband, & Sangwoo Lee Husband; and seven great grandchildren Alec Clark, Natalee Clark, Gordon Scott, Jeffrey Husband, Dylan Davidick, Matthew Davidick, & Braedyn Husband. Delores is preceded in death by her husband James who died on March 30, 1993. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother William Morley; and a sister Gladys Robinson.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City Rev. Terry Major officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to the Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch Recovery or to the Pierceville Federated Church both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
