Obituary for Delephine May Chilson

Delephine May Chilson, age 94, of Ulysses, Kansas died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born March 15, 1920 in Horace, Kansas, the daughter of Charles T. and Barbara (Huddleston) Dinsmore.

Delephine grew up and lived in Greeley County, Kansas. She married James Wesley Chilson in 1937 in Horace. She was a cook at the restaurant in Tribune and Horace. After her children were born, she was a stay at home mom. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and her flower gardens.

She is survived by her children, Wanda Bloesser and husband Jay of Ulysses, Kansas, Wesley “Sonny” Chilson and wife Jan of Lindsborg, Kansas, Donna Wise and husband Bud of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; sisters, Kero Lee Doty of Tribune, Kansas, and Elberta Rutherford of Liberal, Kansas; sister-in-law, Jean Chilson of Oregon; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Delephine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wes in 1996; son, Jimmie Dale Chilson; and grandson, Randy Bloesser.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas with Mike Bubar officiating. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM MT at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to The Legacy at Park View Special Care Unit in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
