Obituary for Wanda B. Bertholf

Wanda Blanche Bertholf, 86, of Arvada, CO (formerly from Garden City), died Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheatridge, CO. She was born
May 21, 1927, in Pierceville, KS. the daughter of Henry "Hank" Stukey and Hermie Blanche Mann Stukey.
Wanda graduated from Garden City Senior High School with the class of 1946. On
August 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to Wayne Bertholf in Garden City, Ks. Wanda worked for the U.S.D. #457 as the school secretary for over 20 years and retired in 1995. Wanda was also the homemaker for the boys and Wayne.
She is survived by three sons; Philip of Dodge City, Ks., Larry of Omaha, NE., and Neil of Arvada, Co. One sister, Mamie Ruth Stukey Crabb of Lawrence, Ks., seven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband Wayne who died on September 1, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her father, Hank Stukey, her mother, Hermie Stukey, a son, Keith Bertholf, and a sister Norma Jean Worf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Rev. David Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials to the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, KS or Collier Hospice Center of Wheatridge, CO. Condolences may be emailed to garnandfh@sbcglobal.net.
